New Brighton Old Police Station cells have now been converted for public use but you will see why so many are trying to get locked in with us for the night after your visit. During the day time hundreds of people visit this location since its conversion to a community centre. Although it is well-used by local people not many would realise that this was New Brighton Old Police station. Upstairs where we do have access to, hold three rooms that once were used to question detainees.
New Brighton Old Police Station attic rooms still hold a lot of history. One room in particular the staff of the centre have claimed on entering the room they have seen to see a figure standing in the corner but disappearing as the light were put on. Is this a trick of the light from the corridor or a spirit of the temporary residents?
With security of this building been tight the alarm system can be a little sensitive. Over the years management have been called out with false alarms. Although the system has been checked thoroughly, one of the old cell alarm senses seems to be the culprit. Could this be a police officer doing his rounds, or the old prisoner who is still waiting to be released?
