Gwrych Castle Ghost Hunting Event

Guests at Gwrych Castle have reported many ghostly apparitions during their tours. Would you be courageous enough to accompany them? After your initial check-in, you will receive a short welcome talk and an equipment demonstration. With the lights on, our in-house team will take you and the other vigil guests on a walk around the castle. This is where you will familiarise yourself with the building. After the walk, everyone will be divided into smaller groups and the lights will be turned off.

There will be smaller groups conducting vigils in and around the castle using dowsing rods and K2 meters as well as table tipping if desired.

We advise you to wear layered clothing as temperatures can drop quite significantly on investigations. We also recommend flat shoes with non-slip soles, as you will be walking around in the dark and on staircases with no lighting. Don’t forget your torch, as the event does take place in unlit locations. You are welcome to bring cameras and personal paranormal investigation equipment. We have a hub area where you can purchase tea/coffee and catch up with other group members.

This event is for persons aged 16 years and over only.

All proceeds go to Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust. You are welcome to bring your own ghost hunting equipment, snacks, food and treats but we do have rooms to make hot and cold drinks.

We do have mediums and psychics with us on the night. However, if you feel you have the ability to communicate with spirits please do mention this to the team. We welcome your information to build a better picture of the history of the building.

Event Details Gwrych Castle Ghost Hunting Event

On the night we will do a short Ghost Tour and Vigils in the haunted locations as well as Séances in small groups

You will have the chance to use Paranormal Equipment and a Dowsing workshop and during the vigils, you may get the chance to do  Table Tipping.

During the evening we also have Psychics & Mediums working on the event.

On the night we do have Hot & Cold Drinks however you can bring your own throughout the night.

Entrance to the Castle can be found following the drive from the main entrance.

More Information About The Castle

The Lloyds (Llwyds) of Plas yn y Gwrych were the ancestral owners of Gwrych, additionally could trace their ancestry back to the medieval period. They were part of the royal house of Marchudd ap Cynan, founder of the VIII Noble Tribe of North Wales. The Lloyds also shared consanguinity with Llywelyn the Great. furthermore, situated within the Gwrych Castle Estate is a pair of Iron Age hillforts, a Roman shrine, lead and silver mines and medieval battle sites. These are recorded on stone tablets at the principal entrance.
