Ghost Hunt at The Old Linacre Bootle – 25th April 2026
The Old Linacre, located at 46 Linacre Lane, Bootle (L20 5AL), carries a fascinating past. Once a lively local pub bearing the proud Higsons Brewery insignia with its famous “liver bird and hop leaf,” it served as a cornerstone of community life. Though its pub days are long gone, the building has been reborn as a vibrant community centre — but its echoes of the past remain very much alive.
The Mystery Beneath
Beneath the floorboards lies an unexpected secret. The Linacre was built with two cellars, one above the other — the lower connected to the nearby canal, the upper to Linacre Lane. Canal workers would drink below while locals gathered above, creating a layered energy that lingers to this day. Join DeadLive Events as we uncover the ghostly residue left behind.
